Tour Itinerary

Our Luxor trip starts with picking up you from the hotel in Sahl Hasheesh by air-conditioned van, for a three-hour drive to Luxor, through the eastern desert of Egypt. Upon your arrival in Luxor, you will be escorted by your Egyptian guide for first visiting the famous Karnak Temple Complex.

It is an amazing achievement of ancient Egyptian engineering. The Karnak complex consists of three temples and its construction took several generations. At its heart is undoubtedly the Temple of Amun-Ra, the largest extant column-supported temple in the world, with the Hypostyle Hall, with its 134 free-standing columns, also world-famous, setting the stage for several Hollywood films.

Thebes, the ancient name of Luxor, is often referred to as the largest open-air museum in the world. After we crossed the Nile to the west bank, enjoy by the view during we drive and through lush farmland and sugar cane plantations to the edge of the desert where we visit the tombs of the pharaohs during the tour to the Valley of the Kings, which were full of indescribable treasures, and are covered with beautiful painted hieroglyphics depicting the life of the king, including the tomb of King Thutmose I, Thutmose III, King Tutankhamun, King Ramses VI., King Merenptah, and Amenhotep II.

The temple of the famous female Pharaoh Queen Hatshepsut will be our next part of our East bank Luxor excursion. Architecturally breathtaking, the Hatshepsut temple would today be able to withstand modern buildings. He rises from a multitude of steps, behind which he merges with the rocks. It contains beautiful murals on its interior walls.

On the way back to the east bank, we take a photo stop at the Memnon Colossi, two giant statues that stand proudly but lonely at the entrance of the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III.

During a break, you can relax with your lunch which we serve at a local restaurant. You will have the opportunity for an own shopping trip, after which you will be driven back to your hotel in Sahl Hasheesh (end of the Luxor tour with Valley of the Kings).
