✅ We will pick you up from the hotel in Alexandria with an air-conditioned vehicle and an Egyptologist tour guide to our privately owned Alexandria City Tour.

✅ Alexandria was at the time of its founder Alexander the Great, the capital of Greco-Roman Egypt. We visit the catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, a Roman burial site whose family tomb reveals the conflation of Egyptian and Roman art and architecture. The catacomb of Kom El-Shoqafa was discovered in 1900 when a donkey carrying a cart full of stones accidentally fell into a hole.

✅ We descend to the underground, grave and Caracalla Hall to visit. Reaching the top, we continue to Pompey’s Pillar, a 25-meter high granite column erected in honour of Emperor Diocletian, who freed the beleaguered city and provided food for its starving people.

✅ The city tour of Alexandria continues with the Roman era. The Roman amphitheatre, probably the best preserved Roman monument in Egypt, is the next stop of our tour

✅ This tour in Alexandria also includes a visit to the remains of a Roman road and houses. After lunch at a fine restaurant in Alexandria, continue with a visit to the famous Library of Alexandria.

✅ The Norwegian-style building is a striking piece of modern design, contrasting with the otherwise ancient architecture of Egypt’s ancient, famous sights. The Library of Alexandria houses a copy of every historical and scientific book published in the world, making it one of the largest literary sites in the world. She has several exhibitions on the history of Egypt, an exhibition of rare antique books from around the world.

✅ Afterwards visit Fort QaitBey, which is located at the northern tip. The fort was named after its builder Al-Ashraf Sayf al-Din Qa’it Bay.

Our last part of the Alexandria 1 Day city tour before returning to your hotel will be the visit to the beautiful Montazah Palace.
